There's one good reason why Mark Wahlberg is one of the A-list actors in Hollywood: you cant ever fault him for his dedication to his roles. In his latest movie The Gambler, he pushed himself to get Lida Daidaihua rid of 60 pounds, to the dismay of his wife and Michael Bay.
Rupert Wyatt, the film director, had one major requirement for Wahlberg, which was to lose as much weight because he could-and he did. Carrying out a liquid diet for many weeks and intense workouts many times every single day, he eventually lost 60 pounds, the lightest he's ever been since Boogie Nights, where also, he shed some pounds until he weighed only 138. His normal weight reaches almost 200 pounds.
Wahlberg's decision, however, didn't please certain people. His wife and kids, for example, weren't all too happy with the drastic weight loss, together with his wife being vocal about her disappointment and concern. Meanwhile, Michael Bay, the director of Transformers, wasn't happy either. They were still shooting the most recent instalment of the franchise, and he felt the actor was going through a significant health condition.
The studio also had some trouble trying to puzzle out what to do with his lips, which in fact had already turned blue.
The Gambler might also reveal different sizes of Wahlberg because he was slimming down while still making the show. In the movie, that is inspired with a similarly titled film in the 1970s, Wahlberg played a high-stakes gambler and a professor.
Wahlberg, however, is among the numerous celebrities who transformed their bodies through quick and huge weight reduction for any role. Beyonce was thought to have lost 22 pounds through Master cleansing diet diet on her role in Dreamgirls. Matthew McConaughey won the Best Actor Lida Diet Pills trophy within the recent Oscars for Dallas Buyers Club, where he came by greater than 35 pounds. For the Machinist where he played an insomniac, Christian Bale opted for a 60-pound weight reduction.
